I'm sitting in my favorite chair on the front porch. It's early on a Sunday morning. The weather this past week has been unseasonably cool and this morning continues the trend. It began to rain last night which, I guess, portends a trend back to seasonable weather. The weatherman tells us that we're experiencing the remnants of hurricane Harvy that did all of the damage down in Houston.
The sweatshirt and a fleece jacket I'm wearing just barely keep the damp, cool morning air from chilling body. Every once in a while a slight breeze stirs up and a fine mist blows onto the porch causing me to reach for the warm cup sitting on the arm of my chair, snuggle it a little to warm my hands. As I sip the now lukewarm, slightly sweet coffee I realize it's time to move inside. I gather up my things move into the kitchen for a second cup of hot coffee and begin the day in earnest.
